the great reformation happens after cynder's first attack on malefor, who sommons more destroyers, causing the upper atnosphere of the planet to be displaced. after the end of the battle, which takes place above the crystal core of the planet, the outer core of the planet rips apart, forcing silver to use dark magic to bring the planet back togeather. unfortunetly, it "restarts" everyone's lives except malefor's who then attacks the great dragon temple he hijacks silver's egg, and forces cynder to take refuge in a swamp. while inprisoning cinder, terrador, volt, and cyrill. when cynder learns of her past, she journeys to to the temple and frees the elders before attacking silver's lightly fortified encampment, which end in an inter dimentional batttle in the dark relams.
